What to expect during therapy sessions
I might be a therapist, but I’m not superhuman. Like you, I am not perfect, but I have found ways to make life worth living in a perfectly imperfect way. I would love to teach you too.
Finding something you enjoy is a vital part of life. For me, my passion is understanding human behaviour and helping people change in a way that is based on evidence, not best guesses. I have been interested in psychology from a very young age and at 19, I was one of the youngest to have ever started the psychology training programme in Sweden, where I grew up.
As well as my own business, I enjoy teaching as a visiting lecturer in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy on the Doctorate in Clinical Psychology at University College London (UCL), helping young minds flourish. I am also experienced in providing supervision for Clinical Psychologists and CBT therapists.
My big passion at the moment is writing a book about couples relationships and compassion, blending concepts from research and practice into a unique model for therapy: Couples Compassion Therapy.
My working methods mix empathy, compassion and warmth with humour and metaphors. My aim is to use the right questions to help you gain insight about your difficulties and then figure out how to tackle them. I understand what it’s like to have a critical inner voice, a feeling of not being good enough or of being an imposter. I have them too, most of us do. We are all in this together.
Therapy with me will be a learning experience – one where you mix theory and practice to grow and develop as a person, better able to face your fears and step out of your comfort zone. Together we can achieve truly remarkable things, if you let me help you.
